I do have a suggestion for the event module.
Could you all a full day event future to the module.
For example: 1 January is a public holiday in most countries and it is a full day event.
If you could add an event so you do not need to enter time to the event and only the date and in the display it would take preference and display at the top of the events list.
Then you could add birthday's to you events to with reminders as a birthday is a full day event.
