Which one do you think is better - comments with cards...
Or comments without cards, but with a highlight on-hover...

I am leaning towards comments without cards, as this would add yet another element that needs to be customisable, and would also require extra margins, so when you see comments in, say, a timeline card, which is sitting withing a block, you'd end up with 3 sets of margins on each site, eating up at least 60px of space on mobile.

Just another couple of elements to manage and worry about whether it works for everyone and all device screen sizes.
