Comment to 'Affiliate System Questions'
  • @AQB Soft Brilliant!!! Thanks a lot for your great answers. You have helped me determine how to direct my affiliate marketing efforts and strategies to promote sales on my website.

    Commission Type:
Membership Upgrades and Market Purchases: These are recurring commissions and are earned every time the member performs these actions (e.g., upgrades membership or makes purchases).

Meaning it's a 'Lifetime Commission', right? So, can I safely use terms like: 'Lifetime commission', 'Recurring commission', 'Passive income' etc without sounding pretentious? This type of commission is more attractive to affiliate marketers.

    Commission on Multiple Membership Upgrades:
Yes, sponsors receive commissions every time a referral upgrades their membership, even if they upgrade to the same level multiple times.

Is the monthly/yearly membership renewal (current membership) also treated as an upgrade? Will the sponsor receive commissions every time a referral renews their membership (e.g. every time he/she pays for the monthly bill)?

    Free Trial Commission Timing:
The commission is assigned at the moment the new membership starts, which is before the payment occurs after the trial period.

What about if after the end of the trial and before the start of the new membership (in between there), the payment didn't go through? Reason: insufficient funds on the credit card. Will the commission still be assigned to the sponsor?

    • Can I use terms like 'Lifetime commission', 'Recurring commission', 'Passive income'?

Yes, I believe you can use these terms as they align with how the commissions work. Commissions are assigned the moment a payment is successfully processed. If payments occur with the regularity implied by those terms, then using them seems accurate.

Does membership renewal count as an upgrade, and will the sponsor receive commissions for it?

Yes, this is called a "prolongation" and triggers after register_payment event. This event only occurs after a successful payment, meaning the sponsor will indeed receive a commission for every renewal.

What happens if payment fails after a free trial?

I apologize for any earlier misunderstanding. All commissions on the site are tied to actual payments for products, including membership fees. Commissions are only assigned when a physical payment is made. During a free trial, no commission will be assigned until the payment is successfully processed - whether it's at the end of the trial or through manual payment. If payment fails after the trial, no commission will be assigned. Similarly, no commission is assigned at the start of a trial period without payment.
