Just read this post https://unacms.com/d/pro-apps-for-free and was wondering if this was implemented or not. Where did you guys land on this topic?

    • Yes, you can indeed download them for free from GitHub, but without a premium license, you won’t be able to update them automatically. If you think you can update them manually whenever a new version is released, then yes, it won’t cost you anything. However, if you’re asking this question, I doubt you’ll succeed. The cost of a programmer’s work for this process is higher than the price of the licenses themselves, so in the end, it’s worth paying for a license. The advantage of offering a free download is to allow users to test the product before committing to a purchase.

Moreover, I believe the license should be paid for to support the development of the software if you decide to use it. Without funding, no one will continue updating the software, and over time, it will become obsolete. In that case, your investment in that website will be wasted money.

      • Thanks for the reply. Yes, I was just wondering if we could download them through the market for testing purposes. I fully intend on purchasing a license. However, the app descriptions and documentation do not come close to what is needed to fully explain the functionality of an app before purchase. I just don't want to purchase a $50 or $100 app to test for a few hours then realize it's not what we want or can use and then have to pay a developer on top of that to create our own. That was the reason for the question.

        • I've downloaded from GitHub, for just the reasons you gave. It allows all testing. Even the messenger app, to test, you will need to setup a jot server for that test. You will not be able to upgrade/update the site or convert that site to a working one. But you can see how all of them work. It's how I've done all installs of sites I've worked on or own.

          • You know while I am reading this I do understand where your coming from with wanting to test them first I really do, It would be great if they had a 7 day licience to test but I also see it from UNA side the apps pays for the future investment and of course incurred costs that have to be paid, I also pay for Apps from AQB software too as @AQB soft are amazing with knowledge and support too, So I do see both sides and would never want to put UNA under any financial strain after all if they every stopped there time knowledge which is for all of us we would all be in trouble at some point. Just to finish off I know everyone has a different budget when it comes to purchasing them too.
