Dear all,

I am facing problem with getting emails delivered from my website. They are getting bounced.

I have UNA script hosted on TMDHosting and I also have SMTP mailer installed. I have setup "admin@ xxxx com" as "Default Email to send from" email address.

I am getting frequent email errors on"admin@ xxxx com" as mentioned below. Any help or assistance will be highly appreciated.

    • I am running on TMD can I just ask if you have run server audit in dashboard also is Cron job running every minute,

      • First of all, thank you very much Clubhouse for your reply.

        I did run the server audit just now and it is suggesting me to install "installing PHP accelerator" & "deflate_module for Apache".

        Not sure about the cron job. Output I got is as below:

        Cron jobs -

        MAILTO=""

        SHELL="/bin/bash"

        * * * * * /opt/alt/php81/usr/bin/php -q /home/mywebsite/public_html/periodic/cron.php

        So from this output is there anything that I should do?

        Also can you share if you have faced similar problem anytime on TMD? Thanks in advance for your reply.

        • Hello @Umesh D !

          Could you please find the line like this one:

          • Last cron jobs execution - 26 Jun 2024 11:23:02 pm

          below you info about Cron Jobs?

          • Thank you very much your reply @LeonidS. Yes its there.

            • Last cron jobs execution - 26 Jun 2024 10:56:04 pm

            I have SMTP mailer also installed while I am not using any external mailer like mailchip etc. Is this ok?

            • SMTP mailer will not work without setup services like Mailchimp.

              • Thank you. My question is for normal functioning where no external mailer is not used, is SMTP mailer required or I can do without it.

                I would highly appreciate if you can solve this problem of mine. I tried a lot with TMD but no luck so far. People are not able to register on the site because they are not even getting email verification mail.

                • Ok I would go to TMD telling them about the cron job and tell them what you have missing from the server audit pass them a screen shot of the audit too they have some good knowledge of UNA CMS also tell them the problem with the mail doing this shou;d fix all your small problems .

                  • Thank you so much for your reply @Clubhouse . Will send them the server report.

                    Have contacted TMD multiple times but no luck. They could not solve it.

                    • Are you on dedicated or shared TMD can not always solve issues on shared" various reasons

                      • By default, UNA sends the letters via the using of PHP mail function. But as dear @Clubhouse noticed - sharing servers have the limitations the proper work of it.

                        • Yes its a shared hosting that we are on..

                          • I see.. So, can that be the reason for email issues?

                            • Ok , did they install or you, as if they install they always get it going but if you installed TMD have little interest

                              I have a ot of servers all the way up the scale with them for different websites including dedicated

                              • Hello @Clubhouse.. TMD only installed it for me..

                                • If you are on a shared virtual server then your IP adress is also shared. That IP address may be blacklisted with the free e-mail service providers, like hotmail, microsoft, google, etc. In that case your e-mails are sent out by the UNA system but get immediately blocked by the freemail servers, even before they get processed by any mail server on their systems. Those e-mails are like ghosts.

                                  To solve that problem, one of the affordable options is to get yourself an e-mail service, that will change your IP adress from that blacklisted to their own system IPs, which they take care for being always whitelisted. But that has been discussed before in this forum several times. I use SMTP2GO and I don't have any issues with blacklisted IP anymore.

                                  • Thank you very much for your reply @thomlin.. Will check the discussion on this forum about blacklisted IP and do the needful!
