Game over for the 'Apple Tax' (fee) in the US
Hello,
Apple must allow publishers to freely link to alternative payment systems outside the App Store without taking royalties in the US effective immediately, a US judge has ruled in a scathing assessment of the company's dealings...
What an exciting news! The Apple's 30% fee was abusive. Will UNA (Mobile App/NEO) be adjusted to address this change? @Andrey Yasko @Mark Purser @Alex T⚜️ @Anton L
There’s already plenty of speculation on how developers might capitalise – one suggestion is simply offering an in-app payment button using a web-based payments firm like Stripe through Apple Pay.
Developers could also potentially hide the native IAPs entirely and point players to the web for all purchases. We’ll see how far developers can push the new guidelines in the coming days and weeks...
Thanks

Seems like Apple will still cut 27% from all payments, regardless of the payment gateway.

Abusive is an understatement, it's a SCAM. I will never publish an app in the apple store. Only the MAFIA imposes a 30% tax on income. I threw my iPhone in the trash about 10 years ago. For me, this company didn't exist.

Yeah Apple violated the U.S. court order on the 30% commission fee. But immediately after, the same judge put an end to that stupid 27% commission on external purchases in this most recent Order.
