Groups - Wrongfully removed (Restoration Help Needed)

Urgent help needed as I struggle to restore groups module. To keep it short and jump the gun, this is how it goes.

  • Groups is not in studio, k
  • But when you go to App Store it is listed with the status "Installed" and only because it is actually in the /modules/boonex/groups directory
  • Now, if I delete groups from the /modules/boonex/ directory it disappear from the App Store
  • Now if I go to the Storefront I can download it again, BUT it appears back in the App Store with status "Installed" grayed out and not "Install" blueish color.

Somewhere in the system is still a reference of Groups being installed and the minute we remove that, point 4 from the above will give Groups back into the App Store with the option to install it.

        I've run the sql scripts but all in vain. After downloading Groups again from StoreFront it appear back with the status 'Installed', I then test the theory under normal circumstances by deleting 'Discord Connect' from my AppStore and redownloading it from StoreFront and that worked well.

        Does each group version perhaps has it's own unique id in the database, because the download now from StoreFront could have differ from the groups I originally wrongfully deleted or?

        Please examine or simply screen through my error_log file from Public_html folder, remember I also face other problems likemy dashboard indicate no upgrade/update or even the visibility of the "Update" button for manual updates... below are entries just for 02/02/2025 :

          • To make things worse, when creating a post, listing or album etc. I can't seem to assign any visibility to spaces other then Public, friends, relationship etc. My theory was that if I would like to fix all issues at once, was by, and I understand now exporting my user data, re-install una and import my data to a freshly installed, however I do believe by fixing my update/upgrade problem from within Dashboard that these issues will be systematically be resolve given the force upgrade feature regardless the percentage customization, that is to pinpoint and streamline to as little as possible work. If we leave everything and perhaps focus on my updates/upgrade problem, we might just get lucky. Anyway, sorry for all the dirty detail and log files.

            • Update to the Visibility (Assigned permission field on Post, Albums, Listings etc.) field where you'll decide whether your content creation is visible to the public, friends, relationships, groups or spaces. This was solved with the help of @LeonidS and I think a lesson learned of how the system really work sometime mistaken for a technical problem. In studio under settings is "Hide post to context for module in privacy field" that tweak the listing of whatever assignment it be groups or spaces you wish to see or not. Wish we could document this in a knowledgebase for future reference.
