License Not Working For Subdomain

Hi UNA Team, I created a subdomain as I needed to on my license. I applied the secret key of the license to the subdomain and realized it's not able to connect to the market for apps installation.

Is there anything else I needed to do to get this working?

    • To generate key (ID) and secret for your site, please go to this page

      https://una.io/page/kands-manage

When entering your site, please make sure to enter it with protocol:

      www.example.com - wrong

      http://example.com - right

Then enter generated key & secret on your site:

Studio > Settings > System > General > UNA account key & UNA account secret

Then you will be able to download modules straight from your site:

Studio > Apps market > Storefront

      • Thanks Baloo I had done all the above and it registered my Subdomain as a free site without access to apps that were initially available on the main domain.

Maybe the free original apps are only allowed from the primary domain and not a subdomain, just saying?

          • Your license is only going to work for one site. If you set up a subdomain and re-enter your license again for registration, you may need to get UNA to make sure it took on their end. It's probably still pointing to your primary domain.

            • I think this is something to review. There are a couple of reasons that may warrant the need to categorize a single website especially when it's international in scope like I am trying to do for my project to enable better management or administration of the website.

I am proactively trying to create subdomains on the basis of countries or even regions, if it will make things easier for me. I don't think this country classification should necessitate buying multiple licenses. It's an unnecessary cost.

I have been reviewing also the benefits of chosing between subdomain and subdirectory in relation to SEO and ranking of the main url.

The subdirectories works fine with the license, but what if my review favours subdomain option?

I don't think the license should be another drawback for UNA that is still having a tough SEO walk-through. My take.

              • Yes, it would suit me well, among other things to do tests. But we must recognize that even if the domain is the same, the sub domain is considered another site. Moreover if you have the same content on different subdomains, Google will not appreciate and will immediately remind you to the order.

                • Hi DeDiary ,

For SEO If you use subdomains Google will accept them as different sites while sub folders will be a part of the main site and stay in the SE statistics of the main site.

Yes, that's what I realized and seriously thinking about it.

It's sure same website without content duplication. I needed to separate based on country to handle the dynamics of my project better.

                      • Much better to use your primary domain and one license and then you can create a Space for each country and a Sub-space for each city within that country's space.

Thanks, I really won't bother if it's what any of the modules could handle. I really wish.

                          • Not sure I understood reply but the Spaces module that comes with Powerapps will do everything you need without going through subdomains and licensing. Also, your site can be crawled and SEO friendly with the spaces and contents of spaces.

My project is a social impact initiative with a global scope.  I have deployed and tested Spaces where it's useful for it and I don't really want to give full details here bcos it's still a work in progress. I appreciate your care Jeremy
