Messages Sections: Difference between Direct, Inbox and Threads Function

Hello Guys,

I am researching how each section of the messages (Messenger) works.

I see that "Direct" and "Inbox" display the same content; what can I do to know the difference?

Another area I'm delving into is 'Threads'. I've encountered an issue where it's not displaying information. Could you share your expertise on how to create and use 'Threads' effectively?

Please.

Thank you so much for your help ☻

    • Hello,

Inbox - contains all types of conversations in one place. When a users open the Messenger page, they will see all conversations that have been created, including those on the Messenger block, directly created, and in threads. The conversations with unread messages will appear at the top of the list.

Directly created conversations are those initiated by a member with selected users from a list.

Threads allow users to start a new conversation based on the content of a specific message. This can be done by selecting the option from the menu.

Replies section displays all replies made on your messages within conversations.

Mentions & Reactions - you can find here the all messages where you were mentioned or where reactions were made to your messages.

Bookmarked section allows you to bookmark important messages, such as event information or passwords, for easy access. You can save messages using the menu options.

If you do not need the first column, you can try enabling Simple mode in the studio messenger settings.

      • I don't have the reply in thread option... @Alexey is there somewhere to enable it?

        • I've looked everywhere, even here in messenger, no 'reply in thread' ever shows on any message menu

          • Is this what you are looking for?

            Studio >> Navigation >> Items >> Messenger >> Message's Menu

            • image_transcoder.php?o=sys_images_editor&h=2135&dpx=1&t=1720785443

It is on, but it never shows anywhere. Not even here on UNA. How do you get 'Reply in thread' to work?

              • Hello @Wise,

This option is visible if the two-column mode is not enabled and if you are the message owner or have permission to moderate the conversation.

We plan to enable this option for all participants in future updates.

                • Thank you so much ♥
