public for registered users only

Not so public public.  How do I make it possible for users to make public posts that are only visible to users who are signed in?  Public to the community, not the Internet as a whole?  Thanks again.

    • Hello Nabil !

You need to activate the "Members only" option like was written here https://una.io/cmts.php?sys=bx_forum&id=804&cmt_id=2727

And then your members will choose this option in their content.

      • Thanks much for the link. I think I wasn't clear enough in my question though.  I want to keep 'public' as is.  But, I would also like to have an option to be visible for the community public (public for anyone who has created an account) and not visible to the general public.  Hope that makes sense.

        • Then it is better to rename "Members" via Polyglot into "Public".

          • LeonidS is that possible to do when using Una Hosting?

            I am having a similar problem: https://una.io/page/view-discussion?id=3853

I think what Nabil is saying is he does not want to lose the 'public' option, and just wants to add a 'member only' option.
Mark Purser Andrew Boon are the visibility options/selection method getting revamped in V11?
Personally, I would like to see check boxes to select as needed, or something similar. A way for Admin to custom set the 'default' setting, but allow members to select how to post as necessary.

            • I still do not understand what you guys say, public = visible from the outside and member only =  visible from the inside. What more is needed?

              • For me, my issue is this:  If you were to have multiple membership levels and want to separate a post to make it visible to only Paid Members, its currently not possible without making multiple posts. Paid Level 1 (ie, billed monthly) members would not be able to comment alongside Paid Level 2 (ie, VIP billed annually) members.
But I believe Nabil's issue is he wants to have both 'Public' & 'Members Only' and Leonid was suggesting to replace 'Public' with 'Members Only'

                • One idea to get around it. I have changed the Membership level name from 'standard' to Member. Now, how can I remove the other options except public and members in discussion - me only (can't figure that one out - draft?), friends, selected friends, relationships, selected relationships, moderator, administrator.
Is there a file to edit or reorder them. Can't find it anywhere.

                  • james cherry totally.  OK, I'm obviously missing something else - how do I tag someone in a converstaion like James Cherry in this instance?

                    • Haha, I understand now.

Use the @ symbol, then type in the persons name. You may need to upgrade to Premium Membership to do that, as well as post links, screenshots, etc.

                        • Nabil the way I achieved that for my homepage alone is by going to the Studio > Systems > Pages > Homepage > select the block, click Visibility > Selected Levels, then I disabled "Unauthenticated" and leave all other levels selected and this works fine.

It's applicable to all other content modules.
