Reactions missing

When I hover over Like, I get a blank pop up... no reaction icons. I found the following. What set is supposed to be here?

    • I'm realizing I should not have messed with this and now I cannot change the set back to blank like it was. Does it matter? Will this break something else if I choose the wrong set for "Do Reaction Vote" ? Also, are my reactions missing because they are only available in the premium theme?

      If you know anything about reactions, how they work, and how to troubleshoot this please let me know.

        • Try disabling this (underlined with a red line). It might help, I can't say for sure.

          • No, that didn't help. Thanks for trying!

            • @Ivan Mishchenko - Do you know where this menu is in the settings? Or, what does your "Do Reaction Vote" menu settings look like? If you don't know where this is, go to Navigation and search for "reaction".

              • Did you by any chance delete the reactions here (see image)? Strangely, by default it works without any problems.

                image_transcoder.php?o=sys_images_editor&h=2042&dpx=2&t=1717075237

                • No, they are all there. I have a new installation where I have not made many changes. Unfortunately I've already added many posts so I don't want to re-install.

                  I'm using version 14-B1 if that matters.

                  • Have you tried from another device or browser? Alternatively, the browser may block some actions. Are reactions working for you here on the unacms website?

                    • They work here. So, just my site I guess. 😔

                      • I found an error log in my modules directory.

                        • UPDATE: the reason was in the corrupted symbols of the emoji from the `sys_form_pre_values` table. Instead of the line like

                          's:4:"👍";'

                          the records had the parts like

                          s:4:"?";

                          The solution was in the "emoji" reinstallation via those MySQL commands (don't forget to backup the `sys_form_pre_values` table before and clear UNA cache after):

                          DELETE FROM `sys_form_pre_values` WHERE `Key` ='sys_vote_reactions';
                          INSERT INTO `sys_form_pre_values`(`Key`, `Value`, `Order`, `LKey`, `LKey2`, `Data`) VALUES
                          ('sys_vote_reactions', 'like', 1, '_sys_pre_lists_vote_reactions_like', '', 'a:7:{s:3:"use";s:5:"emoji";s:5:"emoji";s:4:"👍";s:4:"icon";s:12:"fa-thumbs-up";s:5:"image";s:904:"<svg aria-hidden="true" fill="none" stroke="currentColor" stroke-width="1.5" viewBox="0 0 24 24" xmlns="http://www.w3.org/2000/svg"><path d="M6.633 10.5c.806 0 1.533-.446 2.031-1.08a9.041 9.041 0 012.861-2.4c.723-.384 1.35-.956 1.653-1.715a4.498 4.498 0 00.322-1.672V3a.75.75 0 01.75-.75A2.25 2.25 0 0116.5 4.5c0 1.152-.26 2.243-.723 3.218-.266.558.107 1.282.725 1.282h3.126c1.026 0 1.945.694 2.054 1.715.045.422.068.85.068 1.285a11.95 11.95 0 01-2.649 7.521c-.388.482-.987.729-1.605.729H13.48c-.483 0-.964-.078-1.423-.23l-3.114-1.04a4.501 4.501 0 00-1.423-.23H5.904M14.25 9h2.25M5.904 18.75c.083.205.173.405.27.602.197.4-.078.898-.523.898h-.908c-.889 0-1.713-.518-1.972-1.368a12 12 0 01-.521-3.507c0-1.553.295-3.036.831-4.398C3.387 10.203 4.167 9.75 5 9.75h1.053c.472 0 .745.556.5.96a8.958 8.958 0 00-1.302 4.665c0 1.194.232 2.333.654 3.375z" stroke-linecap="round" stroke-linejoin="round"></path></svg>";s:5:"color";s:20:"sys-colored col-gray";s:6:"weight";s:1:"1";s:7:"default";a:2:{s:5:"title";s:37:"_sys_pre_lists_vote_reactions_default";s:4:"icon";s:8:"fa-smile";}}'),

                          • BTW - you may use the Developer solution from this thread https://unacms.com/d/emojis-gone

                            • Well, here I am with the same problem. I am using 14.0.0-RC1. I checked out the link to the Dev app solution. I am also getting the ? instead of emoji in the code. I tried pasting the emoji to replace the ?, but that didn't do anything. On the actual site, there is just a small faint dot in the emoji's place after I hover on the Like button. This is critical. I can't even begin user testing without this. My server collation is utf8mb4_unicode_ci. Can anyone help me figure out how to fix this?

                              • Hello @CoolUser376 !

                                Then you need to use my solution from 31.05.2024. Just be sure that you're working on the PC with the modern OS (not older than Windows 10) and you'are keeping the proer length in the JSON code like s3:"use", s4:"emoji" etc

                                • Yes, I understood your post in the general sense. But how can I access the codes for all six reactions? Are they listed somewhere for me to copy? I only have one install right now.

                                  • I see you were saying to update using the MySQL commands. But I'm not sure where to start with that. I will paste the code that is currently in there in Studio for thumbs up. Does this look right (except for the question mark, obviously)?

                                    a:7:{s:3:"use";s:5:"emoji";s:5:"emoji";s:4:"?";s:4:"icon";s:12:"fa-thumbs-up";s:5:"image";s:904:"";s:5:"color";s:20:"sys-colored col-gray";s:6:"weight";s:1:"1";s:7:"default";a:2:{s:5:"title";s:37:"_sys_pre_lists_vote_reactions_default";s:4:"icon";s:8:"fa-smile";}}

                                    • I talked with support at my site host. I am testing the installation on a shared plan. I was going to upgrade to a cloud plan. My database is set to the required utf8mb4. But the overall server is set to latin1. All of their shared and cloud plans are set that way to align with UTC +0. They said I would have to buy a VPS to set my own server time and charset. Apparently, that's why I can't get the emojis to work even after replacing the question marks with the correct pasted emojis in the lines of PHP.
