Trial period for new users

I would like to give new users free Premium access for a limited time. They create an account and are assigned Premium level automatically. I see this is possible (/studio/module.php?name=bx_persons), but can I limit this access for a period of time?

      You may set the trial periods for the paid levels via the special Paid Levels app.

      • I tried this, but it did not work as expected. New users still get only the standard level.

        • An exact level can be set in Studio->Persons area, "Default member's level to assign after person's profile creation " field.

          • I tried this, too, but then the level was not limited in time.

            • Sorry, there is no such functionality for now.

                I tried to do exactly the same as Achim Wagenknecht is asking and realised what Alex T⚜️ answered is true.

                I hope this will be possible in a future UNA release cause I think giving  a user the possibility to "try before buy" is a very good approach to possible customer / paid member.

                  • Hi Mayki , yes, I tried this, but I needed something else. So I finally solved it in another way:

                    • Since I use a custom module for my paid levels, I can use the regular Paid Levels separately.
                    • Now new users get a special "Beginner" level with very restricted access.
                    • On the home page I placed the Paid Levels block. There is only one plan to choose: 30 days for free. The "Beginners" only see this offer, nothing else.
                    • On the other hand, no one else sees this offer, because I blocked it for all other levels. 
                    • So after a Beginner chooses the free level, they have full access for 30 days. After that they have to use my custom module.

                    I implemented this yesterday and it seems to work. 😎

                      Can you share what is your "custom module for paid levels" ?

                      • Una Inc. coded it for me. We call it "Give Plus". It's based on the standard "Paid Levels" module, but with "Give Plus" users can donate paid level periods to each other. I think, Discord has a similar feature.
