UNA.IO Messenger Desktop Apps
This is just an experiment, but maybe it will be feasible and we'll improve it in the future.

Linux version can be build too, but there are a lot of different packages for different Linux systems and it will take some considerable time to build for each of them, so if we found this app worth to do, we'll build linux packages as well in the future, now it's just a quick experiment.

These apps aren't signed, so you may see some warning from the system on Windows and Mac as well, in the future if these apps will be useful enough, we'll build them for Apple and Windows stores.

Well reason, I wonder about the usefulness of the desktop application, in most cases, no prefer that people are online, especially since it functions well messenger online ...

Agreed but it's the user experience that matters . It's specific to your site and if you were a community of devs for e.g then you don't have to cross apps to communicate. What will be cool is if the editor can be customized. Maybe it could end up being a real time Collab tool ALA Google docs or something

Yes, I was just saying that Alex was right not to spend 10 years on it, when the majority of people expect other things. I'm ready to swap 1000 desktop apps for 1x v10 or 1x mobile apps, that's what I meant and I'm willing to bet I'm not alone :-)

Yes we need the site app this may be an additional accessory to it.
It mayl not be preferable for every site type.

I've installed on Mac OS 10.13.6 High Sierra.
All ok by installation (not verified open).
I can run the messenger and some member from my friendliest are shown. -
Building / compiling my own version on windows desktop app results in a blank white app when opening the desktop.exe.
1. What modules are needed in the una studio to communicate with the desktop app ?
2. If you have time can you update the readme.md with the versions of nodejs, npm, electron-forge, electron-compile ... ect that was used to build your working version on Windows and maybe the npm commands used to build the .exe in the right order.
Clearly there is more needed to it then just running the .bat file included -
electron-forge -a ia32 -p win32 make

For the proper functionality of desktop apps your site must have Nexus app installed. Nexus app will be available with the next major version update.
$ npm -v 6.4.1 $ electron-forge --version 5.2.4 $ node -v v10.15.1
But it should work on newer versions as well

It's pretty stable, but some fixes are still needed in Messenger, I hope Alexey will fix them soon, so then we can start recommending it to distribute.

Several previous updates for Messenger contain many corrections for design and optimizations. The latest update was yesterday. Can you please specify what kind of problems still exist?
