I can't seem to figure out how to create an account on that site to test the demo of spacenook. Clicking on create new account just takes me back to login page. Am I missing something?

What server do you use? Perhaps, if it is on Nginx your need to configure it according to this manual:
https://unacms.com/d/una-nginx-rewrite-rules
If you don't use the Nginx or it was configured properly, then PM with your UNA studio access.
