Is there a way to have video play from within the profiles area. I know i can paste a link BUT it would be nicer if the party didn't have to leave the site and it could play from an embedded player.

In the Studio->Timeline page you may enable the Autoplay for the TImeline videos:
and check if the Profile feed block is active on the Profile page. Perhaps, this variant will be fine for you.
