Wordpress is about posting content (blogs, articles and static content), with plenty of plug-ins to add more interactive features; like community and discussions.
UNA is more for community building; with 'Apps' that can be used to add content.
Unless a Wordpress site is hardened and continually updated, it will likely be hacked. Because of it's vast popularity, it will be under constant attack.

But it's OK. If you just need something simple and will keep it updated, WP would be the better choice. It's the most popular framework for a reason.
