Is Jerome Mingo still suspended?

Can someone please update us on Jerome Mingo. I have several of his products and having some issues with them and asking for his help and updates, but no reply despite of several messages. I sometime see him online, but when I send him messages, still no reply. Not sure if he sees the messages or he is still suspended and hence cannot reply back to me. If so, is there any alternative on who can revise and update his products?

    • Hi @Tajrebatee

I also messaged him and began to wonder given his silence. No products of him yet, but what you share with us seems disturbing from a business point of view.

Doing business with an individual rather than a company has disadvantages. The existence or continuation of products and services, such as upgrades or maintenance, is tied to the owner's life or well-being.

This should be a wake-up call for unacms because it can have a devastating effect on the future of this product which I see ranking as one of the top CMS's frameworks.

@Jerome Mingo products are highly in demand and I regret not having them due to financial constraints, but UNACMS would need to revisit the contractual agreement and make provisions eventhough open-source on many occasions could be the excuse. Jerome and UNACMS team.. please behave in a professional capacity and try hard to avoid emotions, for it makes it seem personal.. don't no what the quarrel is, just saying.

Jerome, we love you man, for your work... please get over it... your people (clients) need you.

      Regards

      Chris

      • Since this he contacted me and said will investigate the issues on his modules on my site, but haven't heard anything yet. He must be very busy.

        • What do the SLAs (Service level agreements) say? This would be between UNACMS and vendors who offer their services and products to unacms clients (Mind the open-source policies that should not be ignored and can play a major role in service delivery)

          • Please note that I had engaged with both unacms team members and Jerome on a personal level. Therefore my capacity shifted from being a professional to personal gain letting me feel special and as if we were friends for a very long time.

If any business wishes to be successful, it requires for such to operate on a framework that complies with international standards like ISO or ITIL .

Owners and stakeholders do own the rights and use their discretion as see fit, but with caution. If a decision was made and compromised the success of the business, well.. the only way out is to fall back to policies, pay the penalty, and learn from it.

I conclude by saying... unacms and counter-parts have changed my world and remain my family, but when it comes to debating business issues, we have to put feelings aside and try very hard to fix what is broken and understand that the framework guides us in making the perfect decisions... There is an old saying "It's simply business, so don't take it personally"

Frameworks like ISO or ITIL are being put together by "Best Practice", the mother of them all...

            Regards

            • Just my 2cents: Using Dolphin and then UNA for my thing, I know Jeromes apps. But let's talk about UNA. I bought almost all apps from Jerome whenever he had a grand sale, or many single ones too, although I did not need them. Just to support his work. And of course, many of them are very good ones, not only promising anything.

Right now, I don't use any of them. The time gap between a problem of an app/module and the solution was not corresponding with my working circle.

So for now I go only with UNA core and @AQB Soft as there is excellent support and they are open to be informed about bugs and 'whatever wishes'.

Finally: Jerome is an excellent Dev, maybe he needs a bit better time and customer management.

              • Unfortunately, completely agree with you. Hope he will work on that!!

                • I am one of those customers who have purchased multiple apps from Jerome some of them several weeks ago and I am concerned what is going on. I have several apps that I would like to have fixed. I am wondering what is the required SLA UNA requires from app developers who sell add on apps for the Dolphin/UNA communities?

If they have suspended him then they should have also suspended the sale of his apps as well. This would have prevented issues with persons purchasing those apps when he is unable to support them during the suspension. I purchased these apps in hopes of improving my site and unfortunately am not able to deploy them since I am unable to communicate with him.

I hope Jerome starts communicating soon or UNA removes the suspension so he can start communicating to his customers to remedy the issues that need to be addressed.

IF this is a permanent suspension then maybe UNA should refund the money that was paid for those apps that were purchased during this suspension. They should also remove his apps so that users are not left hanging with no support. There were no notices that the developer was suspended nor that there would not be support for the apps that they were selling from that developer due to the suspension.
