Mention and selection with "enter"
Before b1, it was possible to select a nick in the list with the arrows then "Enter" and very frankly I can not get rid of this habit. Since b1 if you select with "enter" this poses a problem and it is difficult to backtrack because then it lied twice, it is imperative to use the mouse.
For example here if I want to mention Chris it seems logical to me to enter on the highlighted line.
If you do, it will make the cursor disappear, and if you click in the text box to get it repaired, that's what happens.

Fair enough. Please suggest any other improvements for the @-mentions as well as any ideas on how you think they should works in the Messenger and in Conversations modules. Let’s make this discussion into a pool of suggestions for mentions and we’ll create tickets accordingly.
☝️ This is a call for everyone. Please share your thoughts.

Let me argue please. We might think it's a simple habit to take, the problem is that it works everywhere on the web, so it's hard to take this habit because I lose it as soon as I go elsewhere.
Please, at least then remove this bug effect if you do as you do everywhere. Since this change I see that the number of mentions decreased on my site, which is open to people from 18 to 89 years.
You ask how the mentions should work in messenger. If you use the mentions in a live discussion, it is necessarily because the number of participants is important. You will not do it if you are 5. If the number of participants is important, the discussion runs very quickly. If you force me to take my mouse in hand every time, excuse me but then I was faster to manually write the entirety of the nicks. Remember that predictive research is done to save time first. Do not forget that people do not have a mouse, it's worse they use a touchpad!
For the rest the way the mentions in Rocket-Chat work fits me very well. And uh ... notice that there too we can do enter. -
Oh, I agree about ‘enter’. Just wanted to solicit more suggestions, so that we can have some other improvements in mentions added within this ticket.

Looks like at.js project is no longer maintained. We'll have to switch to tribute.js, which supports "enter" keystroke anyway. https://github.com/unaio/una/issues/2256

Suggestions
1. Be able to @ an entire group or space so everyone in there can get the notification.
2. Be able to @ a channel and have the post appear on that channel
I'll play around some more
-
1. Mentioning everyone in a group is only feasible for "local" mentions in highly controlled types of groups - like a group messenger, where notification may be needed to override settings for those that muted notifications for a group. For example in a group team chat it is OK, because participant may use discretion and only @everyone when the post is important. If you give this tool for anyone, anywhere the number of mention-notifications would be massive and most would simply turn off such alerts, making these mentions useless. Slack has @everyone mentions for its channels, for example - it works because teams can agree on internal rules preventing abuse of this feature, plus Slack will warn every time that such mention can be disruptive. So, more consideration is needed on this one.
2. For a post to appear in a
#channel you just need to#tag it with that channel name. We will add an auto-suggester for#tags to recommend the most popular or trending ones. -
Suggestion
Please include an admin option in studio for @mentions to be for friends only. Some of the names that people see when the @mentions list shows up can be too vulgar for the general population. Most of the time, the people in the list can be irrelevant to the person. Personally, on certain social networks, I only want people who I know to mention me or contact me so I think that this is a good option to have.
