What you're suggesting is a band-aid fix to what should be set as a user-option rather than a simple CSS one-size-fits-all solution.

Have we really strayed that far from the ideals of privacy of the users that we should strip them of this option and say "Either you appear online for all or you don't"?

Agreed. There are many privacy issues in UNA. This is the biggest reason people migrate from huge social sites to smaller niche based sites. We need this option.

Its a shame there really are no mod developers on UNA. Old dolphin had hundreds. And this is a mod I had bought back then. 😞

Unfortunately, that feature was postponed. We definitely need it in the platform for more privacy options. I don't know whether it's so difficult to implement.

Users should be able to set themselves offline, not only in the users list or anywhere else hiding the green icon but in the Messenger as well.

Actually, unless I am wrong, UNA team would know, was looking through code, seems there is a online function where these calls all check, shouldn't be hard to alter that mysql call to exclude if an added field is set.
