Hello out there all you UNAtarians across this big blue-green planet. Anyone on AWS for your UNA storage needs? Care to give feedback? Regarding speed, reliability, and cost.

Let's say you are moving your UNA storage items (photos, video, pdf files) TO Amazon Web Services. Is it possible to edit the original photo or video pages one by one and retain the comments and original (indexed) URL. Or do you have to start over from scratch by deleting all your files and re-uploading them on AWS, on a new page with a new url?

Thank you in advance for your kind reply.

    • Very good question that I'm also interested in.

      • When you move storage folder to AWS S3 storage and properly configure storage settings in UNA, then all URLs are updated to point to the new location, exception is only if files are inserted inline in HTML, which isn't common case, and it happens quite rare, so generally speaking everything should work fine.

        • We deploy to AWS since 2017 actually and S3 remote storage support has been available for a few years now. We usually recommend it as default media storage for all large projects.

          • Very interesting. And very noble, too. You guys make your own livings, in part, by selling server space. Yet you make it easy for those who do not host with you to find a workable solution elsewhere.

Same with video remote processing. I'm seeing a pattern. You guys essentially sell the ram, processors, and disc space for this intensive video operation - yet you make it possible for those on low budgets to find a good solution.
