How does the send feature work on the Timeline?
Hello,
In the Permissions App > Timeline module, there is this 'Send' Permission.
Please can anyone explain to me what is it for and how does it work? I don't see any 'Send' button on the timeline.
Is it used to send files to the timeline? or maybe to send your timeline url to another user?
Thanks

Hello @OneEagle !
This is the "Send to friend" action which delivers the letter about the Timeline item via the Conversation app (if it was installed).

Hi @Leonid S
I got it. Thanks a lot for your explanation. But still I can't find that 'Send' button on the timeline. Where is it located at?

Can we send to messenger? Having both apps on a site is very... Confusing and not needed.

Hello!
Such kind of ability doesn't exist by default.

What about implementing it into the Messenger?

I definitely up vote that. If messenger is installed there is no need for communications app. These features should look if messenger is installed and default send to there.

Hello @Wise !
I guess this is less work - you may not install or uninstall it.

I don't understand? Are you talking about removing communications app? Because I agree, it is useless. Messenger is the only direction to focus on.

Yes, some users don't use the Conversations App if they have Messenger, but many others want to have this "email" addon (Convo) with "instant chat" (Messenger) together.

Hello @OneEagle,
Thank you for the suggestion ) I've just added a new task for this issue in repository: https://github.com/unacms/jot-client-una/issues/300

I'm still not understanding the difference in function. If I leave a message in messenger to someone offline, it acts exactly like the convos app. No difference at all. Which is good 😁
Messenger is my favorite part of UNA. All I am saying is, it should be integrated more. 😎

One of the most important features of conversations mod is that it is sent by e-mail to all participants, no matter of user notification settings.

Last I tested this “send to friend” feature- it sends the message via conversations app, but without any link or context to the original post. So it was pointless. Has this been rectified? @Leonid S ?

Well, from my side it looks fine in Lucid. Which template do you use?
