MUST HAVE: Increased Post and Reply Reach & Verified Account Status
Hello UNA Team,
For small and independent social networks like ours, achieving profitability and finding a reliable source of income is increasingly challenging when facing big players like X and Facebook, who boast billions in spending power and more compelling features.
We need to have some convincing reasons to get members to Paid levels and make them feel it was worth the payment. Otherwise, we will be stuck generating income from our platforms.
I have been studying X and Facebook closely, and I noticed that besides advertising, one thing they have in common to generate more revenue is their enhanced memberships: X Premium and Meta Verified, whose main features are Increased Post and Reply Reach and Verified Account Status.
That's the direction we need to take today; it's the industry trend. Enhanced memberships are a must-have feature if we want UNA to stand out in the social network industry. Algorithmic priority (Reach Boost) and Verified Account/Profile definitely need to be implemented in UNA. @Andrey Yasko @Alex T⚜️ @Anton L @LeonidS @Alexey
We must act on this trend immediately, as ignoring the necessity of enhanced memberships and algorithmic priority would only lead to chaotic, unsustainable results. We won't be able to make it in the near future, and we will be forced to shut down our platforms.
Here are some good feature requests inspired by X Premium and Meta Verified:
1. Increased Post and Reply Reach and Visibility: (Reach Boost and Prioritized Ranking.)
Please, add the ability to set a numerical priority for each membership level in the Level settings. The priority should be configurable based on the levels available in the system (e.g., Priority Boost: 0, 1, 2, 3, 4, etc.).
Priority:
- None
- Minimal Boost (e.g: 0 to 10% of the audience)
- Larger Boost (e.g: 50 to 80% of the audience)
- Largest Boost (e.g: over 80% of the audience)
E.g.: The 'Diamond Plus' Membership may have the Post and Reply Reach Boost with Priority 4, while 'Diamond' has Priority 3, 'Premium Plus' has Priority 2, 'Premium' has Priority 1, and the 'Standard' membership has Priority 0.
2. Verified Accounts/Perfiles:
Verified subscribers receive increased visibility in comments, search results, and recommendations, Content Discovery Boost.
A verified account might include:
- Blue Checkmark Get verified with a blue checkmark next to your name / Verification Badge.
- ID Verification: Verify your account by providing a government-issued ID to protect your account against impersonation.
- Impersonation Protection / Employee impersonation protection.
3. Search Optimization (Top Search Placement/Ranking):
Members appear higher in search results and get their profile recommended to others more frequently.
Same as the 'Increased Post and Reply Reach and Visibility', please add the ability to set a numerical priority placement for each membership level in the Level settings. (e.g: Priority Placement: 0, 1, 2, 3, 4, etc.)
Priority Placement:
- Lowerest Placement
- Lower Placement
- Mid-Range/Intermediate Placement
- Higher Placement
- Highest Placement (Top)
4. Longer Posts:
This highly requested feature gives you a 1 hour window to make a limited number of changes to published posts.
5. Edit Posts:
Want to post more than 280 characters? Longer posts allow subscribers to post up to 25,000 characters.
4. Longer Video Uploads:
E.g., The maximum video duration should be up to 10 minutes for Standard members and up to 2 or 3 hours for Verified members.
5. Reply to verified-only posts:
Once verified, accounts can reply to posts which are limited to replies from verified accounts only.
Important From X: Once subscribed to Premium, changes to your profile photo, display name, or username (@handle) will result in the loss of the blue checkmark until the account is validated as continuing to meet our requirements, and no further changes will be allowed during this review period.
If possible, I suggest that this Algorithmic Priority (Reach Boost) and Verified Accounts/Profiles features be implemented in UNA version 15.
Thanks

We've recently implemented verified accounts on two UNACMS sites, but in a slightly different way: verification is handled before a user can even access the account-creation page. Only after successful verification is the visitor allowed to register. Because every user must go through the same verification workflow, there was no need for internal membership variations that distinguish verified from unverified users — the system ensures that all accounts are verified by default.
This means the concept is definitely achievable today without requiring core UNACMS enhancements. However, I fully agree with you that a proper, official Verified Status system — together with visibility boosts, ranking priority, and membership-based reach — is something UNACMS really needs at the product level.
I’d also like to add this topic to my ongoing request for improvement to the UNACMS platform:
Even though verification can be enforced externally as we currently do, UNACMS would greatly benefit from native support for Verified Accounts, including:
- Verification Badges
- ID Verification options
- Impersonation protection
- Profile change review periods
- Membership-linked visibility boosts
- Algorithmic post/reply reach prioritization
- Search ranking priority per membership level
These features are standard in modern social platforms (X Premium, Meta Verified), and implementing them natively in UNACMS would give community owners powerful new tools to attract paid members and improve trust, authenticity, and platform security.

Very good ideas. This will help monetizing our network.

Good ideas and I think both too hard to implement. We already have algorithmic feeds (For You and Hot) and can add multipliers based on membership levels or label.
The big issue here is that we are still using feeds that calculate positions in runtime, which gets heavy with more variables like that. We have a ticket for async feeds generation, but that’s for v16. In thr meantime @Anton L will review options for early improvements.

Something else you can look into in terms of income generation is to find and make use of ad publishers accounts, where you obtain an affiliate ad account. You publish ads to your network. I use my post view pages as a magazine, where Featured, Popular, Top and Latest post go to, you know, and place ads on the sidebar and can have a banner ad at the top.

Very interesting! With your approach, users are forced to get verified first before even being able to create an account, right? All new sign-ups are automatically verified members. But what I have been trying to explain here is the verified account/profile status as an option, a value-added feature to enhance membership levels.
-
Definitely, it will :)

Sounds great! Adding a multiplier based on membership levels or labels is a great idea. However, it shouldn't be limited to the hot feed section/tab; it should also be applied to the main feed. Also, please keep in mind that it isn't only about 'hot' topics (the most popular content naturally); it's more about the audience, algorithmically boosting the reach, delivering the content to the highest number of members.
-
Very intuitive! You mean something similar to Google AdSense?

@OneEagle Yes, exactly — with my current approach, users must verify before they can even access the registration form. So every new sign-up is automatically a verified member by default.
But I completely understand the distinction you’re making. What you’re describing is not the same as what I implemented. You’re talking about a value-added Verified Status that becomes part of the membership system, similar to X Premium or Meta Verified, where verification is optional, paid, and tied to enhanced visibility and priority.
And on that point, I absolutely agree with you.
My implementation solves only the basic identity verification side. It doesn’t provide:
- A visible verification badge
- Paid verification tiers
- Algorithmic ranking boost
- Search priority
- Impersonation protection
- Post/reply reach boost connected to membership levels
Those features definitely require native UNACMS support and are exactly what the ecosystem needs in order to stay competitive and help platform owners monetize effectively.
So yes — while my approach enforces universal verification for security, the real value you’re talking about is a premium verified profile system, and I fully support that direction. UNACMS should absolutely consider adding this as an official enhancement
(My reply will make more sense here and be visible)

Well affiliate ad publishing can be like Google AdSense, but most of the time they provide graphic ads that you post and add the tracked url to. And then when the ad is clicked on, it is tracked. Also, some ad publisher platforms offer APIs for distribution of ads, so that you do not have to do all of the posting work. You can for instance try Amazon Associates affiliate program and obtain ads and links that way. You can create a permanent ad that does not have to be updated. As well as time sensitive ads that run for a certain date. Just search for Affiliate Programs or Affiliate Ad Publisher Programs and research them. Some companies will scrutinize your site for approval while some do not.

Oh yeah. Got you. I once used one of those in one of my former projects. Thx for sharing.
