I'm a novice user, re: hosting my own UNACMS site, etc. Being a novice, I have made the error, in the past, of clicking, "Download UNA Core" thinking this is the 'code' I need to run my own UNACMS site. After installing and testing it, I found bugs. Upon correspondence with members and developers here, I realize I was hosting an alpha version - it did not occur to me the A, from e.g. 14.0.0-A3, meant Alpha (a testing version). I had to Google 'software alpha') to get its definition.
When someone clicks: Download UNA Core, I suggest it brings you to a download page with a choice of latest stable version and the latest alpha version with an explanation of each so a novice user would be clear as to which version to download.
p.s. I'm a novice and pushing myself not to hesitate to ask questions a novice would ask.
Thank you. That is a good point and we should definitely do a better job communicating our versioning and offering download options.
I agree, offer both of the options.
Moreover, going to Github to get the latest stable version... requires asking some clarifying questions, re: which one do I download? Make it simple, don't require your novice users to go to Github to get UNACMS software.
Oh my goodness! I'm also running an alpha version of UNA without realizing it. It's working perfectly at least... so there's THAT!
For me, the mistake happened right from the UNA dashboard. I installed it from Softaculous, and when I logged into the studio for the first time, it told me an update was available, and I'm used to Wordpress, where updates that appear on my dashboard are supposed to be installed ASAP, and I installed it right away so I would be working with what I thought was the correct version.
@Indie Sellers Guild , have you installed: Discussions? If so, does it work as it should after you've gone to: Settings -> permalinks and have Enable SEO Link. ? On my site the 'title' of my discussions topic displays correctly when I look at my url but then after a few days, when I add another new Discussion topic, the url doesn't display the title of my new discussion title as it should. For example I get: mysite.com//view-discussion/wj9auk, instead of: mysite.com/view-discussion/name-of-title-here
Is this your situation too? Am I the only one who continues to experience this oddity?
